Aegātēs, ium, f. u. Aegātae, ārum, f. mit u. ohne insulae, eine Gruppe von drei Inseln an der Westküste von Sizilien zwischen dem Vorgebirge Lilybäum u. Drepanum (nämlich die Inseln Aegusa, Hiera u. Phorbantia, j. die ägatischen Inseln Favignana, Maritimo u. Levanzo), in deren Nähe die den ersten pun. Krieg entscheidende Seeschlacht geliefert wurde (241 v. Chr.), insulae Aegates, Nep. Ham. 1, 3.
