albēsco, ere (Inchoat. v. albeo; vgl. Prisc. 8, 30), weiß werden, auch vom Haar, Lucr., Hor. u.a.: in plumam oloris, Cypr. ad Donat. 8: quae (oleum et aqua) miscenda manu sunt, donec albescant, Cels. 3, 7. – bes. hell werden, durch Feuer od.
