Leucothea, ae, f. u. Leucotheē, ēs, f. (Λευκοθέα, Weißgöttin), Name der Ino, der Tochter des Kadmus, nachdem sie unter die Meergottheiten aufgenommen worden war; später mit der altitalischen Göttin Matuta identifiziert (vgl. Athamas), Form -ea, Cic. de nat. deor. 3, 39. Ov. fast. 6, 545. Stat. Theb. 9, 402 (griech. Akk. ān): Form -ee, Prop. 2, 26, 10 u. 2, 28, 20. Ov. met. 4, 542; ex Pont. 3, 6, 20.
