Sall.: regionis, Sen.: viae, Plin. ep.: ut a custodia huius opportunitatis (so günstigen Ortslage = günstig gelegenen Ortes) oculos hostium averteret, Curt. – II) übtr.: a) von der Zeit u. dem in der Zeit Geschehenden = die gelegene Zeit, der rechte Zeitpunkt, die günstige-, lockende Gelegenheit, griech. ευκαιρία, Cic. u.a.: divina, ein günstiger, von Gott gefügter Zufall, Cic.: opportunitas suae liberorumque aetatis, die lockende Gelegenheit (Versuchung) bei seinem und der Kinder Alter, Sall.: magnas opportunitates corrumpere, Sall.: magnae opportunitates ad cultum hominum atque abundantiam aliae aliis in locis reperiuntur, Cic. – b) von körperlicher u. geistiger Beschaffenheit = die günstige-, zweckmäßige Anlage, omitto opportunitates habilitatesque reliqui corporis, Cic.: quanta opportunitas in animis hominum ad res maximas, welch große Anlage (welcher Stoff)... zu usw., Cic. – c) v.
