(quinque u. uncia), fünf Zwölftel (unciae) eines As, d.i. eines zwölfteiligen Ganzen (vgl. as), I) eig.: A) im allg., wie: 5/12 der Erbschaft, Plin. ep. 7, 11 in. – B) insbes.: 1) als Münze, 5/12 As = 5 unciae, Hor. de art. poët. 327. – 2) als Gewicht u. Maß, a) 5/12 röm. Pfund, myrrhae, croci qu., Colum. 12, 20, 5: schoeni pondo qu., Colum. 12, 28, 1. – b) als Maß, α) v. Flüssigkeiten, eines sextarius, fünf Spitzgläser, Mart. 1, 27, 2 u.a. – β) als Ackermaß, 5/12 eines Jucherts (Morgen Landes), Colum. 5, 1, 11. – 3) als Zinsfuß, 5/12 von 12/12 Prozent, fünf Prozent, Pers. 5, 139: in Apposition mit usurae, Scaev. dig. 46, 3, 102. § 3. Corp. inscr. Lat. 14, 353. – II) übtr., in Gestalt eines quincunx quincunx, eig. die fünf Augen auf der tessera, dem Würfel), also in schräger Linie gepflanzte Bäume, nach folgender Ordnung:
