supernus, a, um (super), oberhalb (oben) befindlich, der obere, pars, Plin.: litora, Mela: Tusculum, hoch gelegen, Hor.: numen, die oberen (himmlischen) Mächte, Ov.: u. so gentes, die Götter, Sisenna fr.: aquilones, qui alti supernique sunt, hoch vom Himmel herabkommen, Gell. – neutr. subst., de superno, von oben her, *Vitr. 10, 16 (22), 10 Rose: so auch de supernis, Vitr. 10, 7 (12), 3: ballistae in humiliora ex supernis valentes, die von oben herab nach der Tiefe wirkten, Amm. 19, 7, 5: cum proclinior faciliorque iactus sit ex supernis in infima (von oben nach der Tiefe), quam ex infimis in superna, Gell. 9, 1, 2.
