vectīgālis, e (veho), I) zu den Abgaben an den Staat gehörig, a) von dem, was an Abgaben an den Staat gezahlt wird, pecunia, Abgaben, Steuern, Cic.: so auch tributum, Iustin. – b) v. der Pers., die Abgaben gibt, v. der Sache, für die man Abgaben zu geben verbunden ist, steuerpflichtig, tributpflichtig, civitas, Cic.: agri, Cic.: Ubios sibi vectigales facere, Caes.: omnes agros decumanos per triennium populo Romano ex parte decuma, C. Verri ex omni reliquo vectigales fuisse, Cic. – II) zu den Einkünften der Privaten gehörig = Geld einbringend, equi, viell. = zu den circens. Wettrennen vermietete Pferde, Mietrennpferde, Cic.
