(vgl. asser), die Diele, das Brett, die Bohle (u. zwar im rohen Zustande, während tabula = das mit dem Hobel bearbeitete Brett), axes aesculini, quercei, Vitr.: axes querni, Plin., quernae, Pallad.: stabula roboreis assibus constrata, Col.: supra ea tigna transversas trabes inicere easque axibus religare, Caes.: axibus ligneis leges incīdere, Gell. – / Für axis als fem. kenne ich nur Pallad. 1, 9, 2, denn Veget. mul. 3, 4, 44 (4, 25, 1), den Neue-Wagener3 Bd. 1. S. 999 dafür anführen, steht jetzt auch bei Lommatzsch roboreis assibus.
