Dōres, um, m. (Δωριεις), die Dorier, einer der Hauptstämme der Griechen. Sie wohnten ursprünglich am Olympus, zogen später in die Landschaft Doris am Öta, nach dem trojanischen Kriege in den Peloponnes u. nach Kleinasien u. gründeten Kolonien auf Kreta, Rhodus u.
